Bollywood movies with a strong star cast usually performs well at the box office. In the last decade, there are many movies that failed to perform but had the potential be a hit, or may be a super-hit if had little luck.
In the blog, we’re enlisting few movies that may have flopped but are worth watching once.
1. Rehna Hai Terre Dil Me
It’s a love-triangle masala movie with good chunk of humor, action and tragedy. Songs are pretty soothing; some like ‘Zara Zara mehakta hai’ and ‘sach keh raha hai deewana’ are still very much alive among youth. It’s worth watching if you haven’t seen it yet.
[Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Madhavan, Diya Mirza]
The movie has a strong message for youth. Heroes beautifully showcase the mentality of today’s youth and how they feel about being an army man. Its focuses on the fact that pride and feeling to do something for the country drives a person to become a soldier not money or anything else, and one doesn’t need to wear a dress of army or policemen to serve the nation, a small attempt in any manner is enough to serve the nation.
[Cast: Sohail Khan, Salman Khan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Priety Zinta]
3. Jhootha Hi Sahi
Music is good and ‘mere chehre ki do nishaniyan’ song by Sonu Nigam is the highlight of the movie.
[Cast: John Abraham, Pakhi Tyrewala]
4. What’s Your Rashee
How this movie went unnoticed at the box office is still a mystery for me. A good story, awesome music with strong performance of Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja, what’s your rashee can’t be a flop movie that the performance suggests. Songs like ‘Jao Na’ and ‘Bikhri Bikhri’ added more stars to the beauty of the movie.
[Cast: Harman Baweja, Priyanka Chopra]
Ankahee is a movie on inter-marital affair. The movie has strong performances by Esha Deol, Amisha Patel and Aftab Shivdasani. It has some beautiful romantic songs like ‘Tumse Yun Milenge’, ‘Ek Pal Ke liye’ and ‘Aa Paas aa’.
[Cast: Esha Deol, Aftab Shivdasani, Ameesha Patel]
Probably the best movie in of our list, Aashayein is a story of compulsive gambler who wins big amount in lottery but hell breaks loose when he comes to know of his cancer. The movie is his story from being a careless man to a man who understands the importance of life and spreading happiness to others. Acting of John deserves accolades. Like other movies in the list, songs of aashayein are pretty awesome as well.
Some songs deserving attention includes ’Pal me Mila Jahan’, ‘Ab mujhko jeena’ and ‘Chala Aaya Pyar’.
[Cast: John Abraham, Sonal Chauhan]
7. Pyar Ke Side Effects
The movie shows the mindset of 3 guys; one dumped by his girlfriend dumped due to careless nature, other one loves his girlfriend but isn’t ready for marriage and one isn’t ready to be a father after marriage. The movie has a touch of humor and could be a weekend-spender for you.
‘Pappe Pyar Karke Pachtaya’ and ‘Dil Tod Ke Na Jaa Muh Mod Ke Na Ja’ are some hit songs from the movie.
[Cast: Rahul Bose, Mallika Sherawat]
8. 3 Deewarein
The remake of the Hollywood movie ‘Swashank Redemption’, 3 Deewarein is a story of 3 criminals who’re facing death sentence unaware of the fact that two of them are guilty of the crime done by third. The final 30 minutes of the movie is the most gripping and has an interesting end.
[Cast: Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Nagesh Kuknoor]
It’s a story of Muslim women who becomes a suicide bomber after she is sexually abused at a police station. The movie has a sensitive touch and beautifully showcases the wrong practices existing in our legal system including unsafe atmosphere at police station for women and double standards for executing suspect based on his religion.
[Cast: Muzmil Ibrahim, Tulip Joshi]
