Cut a video using VLC Media Player (free of cost method)

VLC media player is a plethora of options. It runs almost all video and audio formats, allows enhancing of video and audio quality. It provide you the option to take snapshots of a running video, and has lots of other useful options.

One such great feature is the ease with which it allows you to cut a video and audio files.

Cutting a video using VLC player is easy and absolutely free of cost, thus saving your money on costly video cutters.

Here are the steps to do this,

  1. Play a video in VLC and goto View > Advanced Controls.

  2. This will bring 4-5 options below Time Toolbar. This includes an option to cut a video (and audio) between two time frames.
  3. Press the red button where you want to start cutting.

    And press it again when you want to stop.

  4. The video between these time frames is now cropped and automatically saved to your Video folder in C drive.
