While I was juggling around with the Chrome 12 browser, I found some great features. Some are how easily it allows conversion of webpage to PDF for offline reading and setting of multiple homepages on startup.
One great feature we’ll be discussing today is how to create desktop shortcuts of favorite websites and weblinks. These shortcuts appear on the desktop just like any other shortcut – My Computer, Recycle Bin and others. After creation, you can visit the website whenever you want just by opening the shortcut. No need to open the browser and explicitly enter a weblink.
Here is how you can create shortcuts for websites/weblinks,
1. First go to your favorite webpage/website. Click the wrench icon of browser, and go to Tools>Create Application Shortcuts.
2. Next choose what sort of shotcut you want. You can select one or all – Desktop, Start Menu, Quick Launch shortcut. Click ‘Create’ to finish the process.
3. Now your shortcuts are created. To visit the sites, just open the shortcut bu double-clicking it.
4. The page would open up. Cheers!
