Which is the most used browser in the world? Take you time and answer, but if you’re voting in favor of Firefox or IE then you’re probably wrong. Chrome, the browser by Google launched in 2008 has overtaken Internet Explorer to become the most used browser in the world.

It was evident after seeing the gigantic rise of Chrome since its launch. It surpassed Firefox by late 2011 and last week went pass Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to become the No. 1 browser.

The result was issued by a Global traffic analytics company StatCounter who has been keeping vigil over the user craze for web browsers. Chrome, mainly due to its faster performance, lighter yet attractive interface is preferred by most netizens. And not to deny the fact that it has Google tag with it and has almost all Google services as addons.

Internet Explorer dropped to second position while Mozilla Firefox is at 3, followed by Safari and Opera at 4 and 5 respectively. The biggest losers are Inter Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.

In India, Chrome surpassed IE and Mozilla in late 2011. Mozilla is second most preferred browser followed by Internet Explorer.

In South America, IE is still at the top while in Africa, Mozilla Firefox is riding the chariot with No. 1 spot.

Different countries have different scenarios but on a broader view, Chrome is above all.
