Change background of Google homepage permanently

After customizing your social media account, you probably want to add a cool background image to your Google homepage.

There are many tricks that allow this customization but you can do this in 2 simple steps. First login to your Google account, select the image from Picasa, Orkut or upload from system and set as your background image for Google search. This change is permanent and shows up till you’re logged in-to your Google account.

Here is a detailed instructions to add a background image to Google homepage,

  1. Login to your Google account and reach google.com. Click on the ‘Change background image’ option at the bottom.

  2. On click, you’ll see a box popping up providing options to chooose image. You can choose any of the uploaded image of your Picasa, Orkut, Google+ account, or upload a new one from your computer.

    Click ‘Select’ at the bottom and you’re done !!!

  3. The box will disappear and you’ll see an altered background for your Google homepage.

This change is permanent and you’ll see this image everytime you go-to the Google’s homepage. Make sure you have latest browsers for full functionality. This feature works good on Google Chrome, Firefox 3.5+, IE 7+, Sfari 5+.
